Code of Conduct
Last updated: October 1, 2026. Effective date: October 1, 2026. Version 3.0.
This Code of Conduct applies to everyone who uses Eventbone: organizers, officials, event staff, club coaches, mentors, evaluators, buyers, and attendees. It is part of our Terms of Service. Organizers and sanctioning bodies may have their own rules as well. When they do, follow both.
1. Treat People with Respect
- Be courteous to other users, organizers, players, coaches, parents, and spectators.
- Do not harass, threaten, bully, or intimidate anyone.
- Do not discriminate against anyone because of race, color, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability, or any other characteristic protected by law.
- Keep messages sent through Eventbone about the event or the work.
2. Protect Minors
Many people at our events are under 18, including players and junior officials. Everyone must help keep them safe.
- Follow the U.S. Center for SafeSport Code and the USA Volleyball Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policies (MAAPP), and any similar policies of the organizer or its sanctioning body, where they apply to you.
- No private one-on-one electronic communication with a minor. Do not send private messages, texts, direct messages, or social media messages to a minor outside the channels and rules the organizer and those policies allow. Where a message to a minor is allowed, copy the minor's parent or guardian or another adult as those policies require. Adults who message a junior official or a player under 18 through Eventbone must send the message to a group or copy the minor's parent or guardian. Junior officials who message each other through Eventbone must keep the messages about the event.
- Do not use contact details from Eventbone to reach a minor for any reason other than the event.
- Do not take, share, or post photos or videos of minors except as the organizer and those policies allow.
- Report any abuse or suspected abuse as the law and those policies require. If a child is in immediate danger, call 911 first. Adults authorized to work USA Volleyball events must report suspected child abuse to law enforcement within 24 hours, and must report sexual misconduct to the U.S. Center for SafeSport.
3. Be Honest
- Check-in. Check in only for yourself, only when you are actually at the venue. Do not fake your location or let someone else check in for you.
- Hours and pay. Record your time and pay honestly. Do not claim matches, hours, or expenses you did not work.
- Clearance. Do not misstate your membership, SafeSport training, background screening, rating, or good standing. Tell the organizer if your status changes.
- Availability and assignments. Give accurate availability. If you cannot work an assignment, tell the organizer as early as you can.
- Consent. A user aged 16 or 17 must give their real parent or guardian's name and email. Only the actual parent or guardian may sign.
- Evaluations. Evaluators and mentors must give fair, honest evaluations based on what they saw.
4. Respect Other People's Information
- Use contact details and other information you see in Eventbone, including the directory, only for the event you are working.
- Do not copy, export, sell, post, or share anyone's personal information, such as their phone, email, address, photo, clearance status, evaluations, or pay.
- Do not screenshot or forward another official's evaluation or pay details.
- Staff with access to more information, such as assignors, site directors, and evaluators, must use it only for their role.
5. Use Eventbone Properly
- Use only your own account and keep your sign-in private.
- Do not try to see information you are not authorized to see.
- Do not upload a profile photo of anyone else, or one that is offensive or misleading.
6. Reporting a Concern
Report a concern about conduct at an event to the organizer. Report abuse of a minor as described in Section 2. Report misuse of Eventbone to [email protected]. You can reach the U.S. Center for SafeSport at uscenterforsafesport.org. For an urgent safety concern at an event, tell the organizer's site director right away, and call 911 if anyone is in danger.
7. Consequences
If you break this Code, the organizer, Eventbone, or both may take action, depending on how serious it is. Actions include:
- a warning;
- removal from assignments or events;
- removal from an organizer's workspace;
- suspension or closing of your Eventbone account; and
- reporting the conduct to the organizer, the sanctioning body (such as USA Volleyball or the U.S. Center for SafeSport), or law enforcement.
We may act immediately when someone's safety may be at risk. If Eventbone suspends or closes your account, you may ask for a review by emailing [email protected] within 30 days, and Eventbone will respond within 30 days. Eventbone passes safety concerns about minors to the organizer and to USA Volleyball, and reports to law enforcement where a child may be in danger. An organizer decision about its own events is reviewed under the organizer's rules.
